An easy path thanks to its brevity but at the same time very suggestive, since it allows one to explore a typical Chianti area marked by vineyards, olive graves, thick woods and cypresses, climbing up a panoramic slope of Monti del Chianti. Lamole is a constant reference point and a desired halfway point on the path.

You leave Greve and take the secondary road of Barbiano, quickly detouring in Via Petriolo, in Lamole’s direction. The road is beautiful, solitary and paved: vineyards, dry stone walls and cypresses accompany the cyclist towards his destination, even if along the path, the chances of taking a detour in one of dirt roads leading to farmhouses and cottages with open cellars are plenty. After passing through the small church of Casole you get to Lamole, a location recognized as a "rural historical landscape of Italy", for its environment remained intact thanks to the work of man and its tradition of viticulture "alberello" built on ancient terraces. In Lamole there are three kilometers left to the end of the slope, so refreshing in this breathtaking landscaping is advisable. After leaving Lamole, the road becomes a white one and you climb up again with slopes leading towards the summit. The forest dominates all the descent though Poggio al Sodo, while Poggio al Pino leads towards Panzano. Only in the vicinity of Poggio alla Cipressa vineyards and olive trees  come back in sight. As soon as Panzano is visible, it is advisable to make a short detour to visit the parish church of San Leolino, one of the oldest in all of Chianti. In Panzano, the castle and city walls maintain all of their medieval character and the food and steaks smell of a genuine and ancient flavor.

From Panzano to Greve, the trip is very short and mostly following an ancient dirt path along the SR222 road, also passing through Vignamaggio, a beautiful late medieval architectural complex with colonicals and a Renaissance villa. Greve is always ready to welcome the traveler who can choose between a visit to the Museum of Sacred Art or the Wine Museum. In alternative a nice stop in Matteotti square is advisable.
