Sigerico's ring takes its name from the well-known archbishop of Canterbury who, on his journey to Rome, traveling along Via Francigena, found a good rest in the territory of Monteroni d'Arbia where Via Francigena is dotted with many resting places.
The Grancia di Cuna, Siena's historic granary, and Ponte d'Arbia are points of interest where pilgrims can often be found on their way.
The route, completely on paved road, is quite easy and, in addition to the Francigena is interconnected with the routes of Eroica and Strade Bianche, allowing the cyclist to choose more challenging routes.

The road to Radi and Ville di Corsano is challenging but very spectacular and offers really suggestive views of the Crete.
At Radi you meet the dirt road of Eroica and Strade Bianche that you can take, as a vintage alternative, to get to Vescovado. Continuing along the ups and downs, more uphill than downhill, you arrive at Ville di Corsano, an agricultural village with its parish church and the nearby castle of Grotti.
The climb is challenging and the encounter with hares, wild boars and mushroom seekers is frequent. We reach the 472 meters of the Rospatoio pass.
The descent that leads to Lupompesi and then to Vescovado is very fast but it's better to stay silent and careful because, when you reach the high tower of Lupompesi and the ruins of the ancient castle of the primate of Siena, Donosdeo Malavolti, who strongly opposed to its destruction by Spanish and imperial troops, you could run into his ghost. In fact, even today, as the legend goes, his spirit wanders in the night and, in the guise of a ghost, dressed in sacred vestments and equipped with a large cross, curses with cries and anathemas the profaners who could also appear in the guise of cyclists armed with iron horses. Fortunately, Vescovado and the Etruscan treasures of the castle of Murlo are close by and its inhabitants always come to the aid of anyone who is fleeing or who, frightened, asks for help.

From Vescovado, an easy stop until Monteroni d'Arbia but, before arriving there, it is worth making a small detour and stopping in a place that is a symbol of the fight against the Mafia: the Suvignano farm.
The large agricultural estate of 713 hectares is an asset that has recently been confiscated from the mafia and organized crime and given back to the Tuscans. From Suvignano, we cross the Cassia again and, having left Lucignano Val d'Arbia to get on its modest high ground, we arrive again at Monteroni where the GATE is located.
The water mill of the 1st century B.C. and the Grancia of Cuna are the attractions of the village, which is very active in both craft and industry.
To eat you then go to the safe place where you can find all the delicacies such as meats, cheeses, cold cuts and desserts from Siena.
