GT2 - Grand Tour Crete senesi

After pedaling 123 km and facing 2082 meters of difference in height, fatigue can affect the mood of any cyclist.

But it won't be like that in this case because the route leads to magical places: from the fortified water mill of Monteroni d'Arbia to the land trampled by the Etruscans and the desert of Accona, in a succession of emotions and surreal colors.

Take it easy and have a safe trip.

The departure is from the main GATE of Monteroni d'Arbia in the direction of Ville di Corsano, which is reached after 10 km of very challenging but beautiful road. The route continues towards the GATE of Arbia and caresses an endless countryside with the exception of the passage in the outskirts of Siena, from where the deviation towards the center is always possible. The stage must be approached with great wisdom.

The route that leads from Arbia to Asciano crosses the lunar landscape of Crete Senesi dotted with lakes and flocks of grazing sheep. The road is full of «pettate» (ups and downs) of a certain importance and should be taken with due calm also to admire a unique panorama.
